FIRST ALL KARACHI SMALL TRADERS CONVENTION DECLARED A MEGA SUCCESS

 

Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a first ever All Karachi Small Traders Convention at Karachi Chamber on Thursday, November 30, 2006 to highlight the problems being faced by the Small Traders. Siraj Kassam Teli, Leader of Business Community and Former President KCCI, was the Guest of Honour at the occasion. He said that KCCI is not only representing 15000 members but is also representing those who are doing Trade and business activities all over Karachi. He assured the leaders of 350 markets and small industries that KCCI will always be in the front to protect them and to highlight their problems to the concerned authorities for the solution of their issues and problems.

 

Mr. Teli, announced that the convention has agreed on a five points action plan which will be presented in a form of comprehensive report to the President, Prime Minister, Governor, Chief Minister, City Nazim and all other concerned authorities. This action plan would focus on Street Crimes, Garbage Control, Encroachments, Infrastructure development and Traffic. 

 

Majyd Aziz, President KCCI, in his welcome address declared that the Small Traders and industries of Karachi are the Pride of Pakistan and it is their contribution that has enabled Karachi to maintain its status as a Business and Financial centre of Pakistan. He added that this convention, which is first of its kind, is a manifestation of the determination of KCCI leadership and Members of Managing Committee, to take everyone on board and to provide a platform where all the issues and problems would be taken up unitidly.

 

Zubair Motiwalla, Former President KCCI, presented many solutions and guidelines in resolving the problems faced by business community and Small Traders.

 

Abdul Majeed Memon, Chairman, Special Committee for Small Traders, in his speech paid tribute to the Small Traders for supporting KCCI and making this convention a huge success.     

 

The convention was also addressed by more then 15 leaders and representatives of different markets, micro industries and shopping centers.

 

Mr. A. Abdullah Zaki, Senior Vice President KCCI, Mr. Saqib Naseem, Vice President KCCI, Mr. Haroon Farooki, Ex-President KCCI and most of the Members of Managing Committee of KCCI also attended the occasion.
