‘My
Karachi 2007 Exhibition’ would be an international event ----- KCCI Chief
"The ‘My Karachi --- Oasis of Harmony’ Exhibition organized by Karachi Chamber
of Commerce and Industry would be held on June 1-3, 2007 at the Karachi Expo
Center and would be an International Exhibition. He said that so far
exhibitors from ten countries have expressed their willingness to participate
in this prestigious event." This was revealed by Majyd Aziz, President Karachi
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while inaugurating the First Meeting of the
My Karachi Organizing Committee.
He added that the Diplomatic Community in Karachi has shown tremendous
enthusiasm for this event and he expects participation of over 100 companies
from foreign countries. He said that KCCI stalwarts have had direct
interaction with Ministers and diplomats from some countries who have pledged
their fullest support. He further added that this would be the fourth My
Karachi Exhibition and co-hosted by the Sindh Government and CDGK. He also
said that prime partners would be major corporations, such as Pepsi Cola, and
other private and public organizations.
The KCCI Chief also disclosed that the event is to be launched by the Sindh
Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, after Muharram at a glittering ceremony. He
said that all out efforts are being made by KCCI to get Pakistan’s trade
missions abroad to promote the event. He also said that as always, spot sales
would be allowed and was of the opinion that nearly 500,000 people would visit
the Exhibition during the three days.
Earlier, Shamoon Bakar Ali, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, presented
the brochures, letters, and other publicity material. He said that a strong
committee has been appointed since this global event would enhance the image
of Karachi and would promote Pakistani products. He also said that
business-to-business meetings would be facilitated too. He said that extensive
media coverage has been envisaged and that competent personnel would
professionally handle the security arrangements.
Abdullah Zaki, Senior Vice President, Saqib Naseem, Vice President, and a
large number of members of the committee participated in the deliberations and
offered their proposals and suggestions.
