KCCI FELICITATES MUSHARRAF AS CIVILIAN PRESIDENT

Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Leader of the Business Community; Mr. Tahir Khaliq; Mr. Haroon Farooki; Mr. M. Zubair Motiwala; Past Presidents, and Mr. Anjum Nisar; Mr. Shamim Ahmed Shamsi, President; Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, Senior Vice President; Mr. Muhammad Haroon Agar, Vice President and the members of the Managing Committee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), in a press release issued today have congratulated Gen. ® Pervez Musharraf on taking oath, for his second five year term, as Civilian President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They also hailed the decision of relinquishing the charge of Chief of Army Staff (COAS), as dignified and graceful way to bring about change of command and termed it as a positive step which will step forward the national reconciliation process in Pakistan.

The higher hierarchy of the Chamber appreciated the achievements and reforms made by the Gen. Pervez Musharraf during first term of his Presidentship, for the socio-economic uplifting of the country and put it on the path of the economic development and growth. They hoped that during his new term also, the continuity and consistency in the economic and commercial policies, conducive for the development of trade and industry, would be maintained and the role of the private sector in the socio-economic development of the country would be further strengthened.

The Leader of the Business Community and Senior Leaders and Office Bearers of KCCI, offered their full support and cooperation to the President of Pakistan in the speedy economic revival of the country.
