KCCI denounces attacks
Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Leader of the Business Community, Mr. Tahir Khaliq, Mr. Haroon Farooki, Mr. M. Zubair Motiwala, Past Presidents and Mr. Anjum Nisar, Mr. Shamim Ahmed Shamsi, President, Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, Senior Vice President, Mr. Muhammad Haroon Agar, Vice President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry have denounced the deadly attacks on former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto’s homecoming carnival and expressed his grief on loss of innocent life in it.
They condemned the two bomb blasts which left 164 people dead, including a KCCI employee, Mr. Nasir Baloch and an ARY Channel Camera-man, Mr. Arif Khan. They said that the attack represented a conspiracy against democracy and hoped that extremists would not be allowed to stop Pakistanis from electing their representatives through an open democratic process. They warned that such terrorists activities and deteriorating law and order situation may compel the existing and potential investors, both domestic and foreign, to rethink their investment in the country, reconsider their business plan and revise their business commitment for the future.
They, therefore, urged the Federal Government as well as Sindh Government to devote their total concentration on the law and order situation and ensure protection of life and property of the people.
They offered their heart-felt condolences to those families whose loved ones lost their lives in the tragic incidence of bomb blast and prayed Almighty Allah that the departed souls may rest in eternal peace and give fortitude to all the family members to bear this irreparable loss.
